Alan Hutton has claimed Eddie Howe has played a large part in Miguel Almiron’s development at Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender knows from playing under Steve Bruce that it did not suit Almiron’s style of play.
The 28-year-old was on the scoresheet for the Magpies for the 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday (23 October).

The midfielder has scored six goals in 12 appearances so far this season compared to just one goal in 32 appearances last season.
Hutton claimed that Howe can take a lot of the credit for the Paraguay international’s development.
“I think if you look back how Almiron had to play under the likes of Steve Bruce,” he told Football Insider.
“I had to play under Steve Bruce as well. Defensively he tries to be solid, he wants to be quite deep and then hit on the counter attack.
“I think it was probably difficult for him [Almiron], coming to a new country and a different way of playing, it was probably hard for him.

“Whereas now, Eddie Howe, he is a aggressive, he is on the front foot, he wants to win the ball high up the pitch. These are all things that Almiron wants to do and it is what he is good at.
“He is playing to his strengths. If you play like that week in week out, you can see his confidence build, we all can. He is only going to get better and better and we are only now seeing the absolute best of him.“
