Transfer Gossip: Sancho one of four in line for stunning Ten Hag revamp at Man Utd; Two more Man City signings

Man Utd pair Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho

Erik ten Hag will look to transform the fortunes of four key Manchester United players, while Manchester City want two more signings – both in all the latest Transfer Gossip.

TEN HAG HAS MAN UTD PLAN

Jadon Sancho is one of four players Erik ten Hag believes he can transform at Manchester United, according to a report.

The Dutchman will soon take over as Old Trafford boss looking to turn the club’s fortunes right around. Following another sub-par season, it could yet be Europa Conference League football for the Red Devils next term.

Nevertheless, Ten Hag has big plans up his sleeve to try and get United back on track.

The 52-year-old is looking at the likes of Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong to bolster his team with new signings. However, the Sunday Mirror has revealed how Ten Hag is also looking within.

Indeed, the incoming new manager has his eyes on Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Elanga and Scott McTominay in particular.

The newspaper claims that they are four Man Utd players who Ten Hag thinks he can put through ‘intensive individual programmes’ in training.

The end goal is to recreate his Ajax methods, by pulling up players’ value with focused development programmes on the training pitch.

Ten Hag brought De Jong, Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech among others to Europe’s attention at Ajax.

And he hopes he can do the same with Sancho, Rashford, McTominay and Elanga.

Sancho has not exceeded expectations in his debut season at Man Utd but will be looking to kick on.

Rashford, meanwhile, has a point to prove following poor form and amid uncertainty over his contract.

TRANSFER GOSSIP – MORE MAN CITY SIGNINGS

Pep Guardiola Wolves v Man City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants to add a left-back and a holding midfielder to his squad this summer, a report has claimed.

City are getting closer to a fourth Premier League title under the Spaniard, who has bred success after success.

However, the triumphs have come from continued investment too. Following Jack Grealish’s £100million arrival from Aston Villa last summer, deadly striker Erling Haaland has now signed on the City dotted line.

According to the Daily Mail, though, Guardiola has spotted more gaps in his team.

Left-back is a key area he has struggled in since his arrival. Indeed, Benjamin Mendy, Angelino and Oleksandr Zinchenko are the three main additions for Guardiola in that area so far.

Only Zinchenko is still playing a part at the club, but Guardiola is now targeting more investment.

What’s more, the newspaper claims that the manager wants a new holding midfielder. Fernandinho has proved a vital servant to City, but he is on the way out.

Rodri is currently the first choice in the centre of the park, but Guardiola wants to further bolster his ranks.

City are ultimately looking to win the Champions League after more heartbreak this season.

HAZARD STAYING AT REAL MADRID

Eden Hazard, Isco of Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Eden Hazard is staying at Real Madrid this summer because he wants to prove himself next season.

The Belgium international signed for Los Blancos from Chelsea in 2019 after a stunning spell at Stamford Bridge.

However, his fortunes have regressed since the move to Spain and a host of injury and fitness problems.

Hazard’s contract runs out in 2024 and Madrid manager Ancelotti has confirmed that the winger wants at least one more season to try and prove himself.

The coach told Goal: “We haven’t talked about it. [But] his plan is quite clear; he stays and he does it with a lot of motivation because he hasn’t had a good time in recent years and he wants to show his quality.”

Hazard has played 65 games for Madrid so far.
