Robert Lewandowski casts further doubt on Bayern Munich future

Lewandowski has made his wish clear

Robert Lewandowski has once again confessed that he does not see himself playing for Bayern Munich next season.

The 33-year-old is looking to leave the Bundesliga champions this summer, with Barcelona thought to be his preferred destination, but he still has one year remaining on his contract and Bayern are reluctant to let him go.

Bayern chiefs have publicly stressed that Lewandowski will fulfil his contract at the Allianz Arena but the Poland international has a different idea and told Eleven Sports that he sees his future away from the club.

"I think my situation is clear and it makes no sense to talk about it," he said.

"It's difficult to say that I will play for Bayern next season."

Lewandowski then revealed to Sky Sports Germany: "It will soon be the time to give more information. Soon it will be possible to say more."

Agent Pini Zahavi did not hold back recently when asked about Lewandowski's future, insisting the veteran striker feels disrespected by the club and is desperate to leave as soon as possible as a result.

Barcelona are working tirelessly to try and get a deal for Lewandowski over the line, but their tricky financial situation could make it impossible for them to meet Bayern's demands.

Meanwhile, Bayern are looking at a deal for Liverpool's Sadio Mane as they brace for Lewandowski's departure, although 90min understands that the Reds will not give Mane away for cheap either.
