Darwin Nunez will reportedly “100 per cent” make a move to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester United among the interested sides.

Nunez has established himself as one of Europe’s biggest talents over the past season. The Uruguayan notched 34 goals and provided four assists in all competitions in the recent campaign.

His 26 goals in the league made him Liga Portugal’s top scorer by some way. The next highest tally was 20, from Porto’s Mehdi Taremi.

Nunez also bagged six goals in the Champions League. Two of those came against Barcelona, and a further two against eventual runners up Liverpool.

Given his tremendous season, Nunez has gained admiration from all over. Indeed, a host of big clubs have been linked with a move for the talisman.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been mentioned as sides with an interest. United’s reported interest has been supported by a journalist, who claims Nunez is on the way to the Premier League.

“He is making a Premier League move this summer – that’s 100 per cent,” he told GIVEMESPORT.

Furthermore, there may be a whole line of clubs queuing up for the hitman.

“I’m told United are just one of a few. Newcastle and Tottenham are also interested,” he added.

“I know it sounds ridiculous, but he would have been shown to Wolves.”

Nunez to United good for both parties

Should United sign Nunez, that transfer would be good for both him and the club.

United’s new era under Erik ten Hag would be beginning with the signing of a striker who has been in electric form over the past season. While United may not have the pull of a Manchester City or Real Madrid in order to sign huge names, Nunez looks like a fantastic asset nonetheless.

The striker’s impact alone could elevate United back into the top four, and could also convince some other stars to join the project too.

For Nunez, he will no doubt be afforded an opportunity as one of the main men in the side. Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to make way at some point soon, and Nunez can then take the spotlight, after having the opportunity to learn from the star.

At just 22 years of age, he will have many years of successful football ahead of him. The striker will want to give himself the best chance of becoming a staple name of European football, and a move to United gives him a great chance at that.
