Man Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle ready for transfer battle as Adrien Rabiot makes dramatic Juventus request

Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle target Adrien Rabiot has reportedly asked Juventus to release him from his contract so he can join another club this summer.

The France international midfielder has always been a divisive figure in Turin, having joined Juve in 2019 from French giants Paris St Germain on a free transfer.

Despite not really being an eye-catching performer at Juventus, Max Allegri loves the player and does not want to lose him.

However, the Serie A side has been struggling to renew the contracts of some of their top names. That has led to a number potentially being shown the door.

New deals are currently being dished out with the caveat of a pay cut in a bid to cut costs.

And now Corriere Dello Sport claims that Rabiot has asked the club to leave so he can save them some money.

The report adds that Juve will be happy to grant that request for a player whose contract ends in 2023. And, having just over a year left on his deal, means Juventus can at least recoup a decent fee.

News of Rabiot’s availability will most certainly alert the Premier League trio, who are all after new midfield recruits.

Premier League trio all keen on Rabiot

United remain keen on striking a deal for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong. However, Rabiot, 27, is a decent second option, if a deal cannot be strick for the Netherlands star.

As for Chelsea, rumours remain of a potential return to Italy for Jorginho – and Rabiot would be an experienced replacement.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are looking to make a big splash this summer and the Frenchman is a big-name target.

It now remains to be seen whether or not Rabiot fancies a new challenge in England. But it will be a big surprise if that is not the case, given his links to a Premier League switch when he first moved to Juve three years ago.

Tottenham and Liverpool were both linked with the player at that time. However, they are no longer in the running after building strong midfield engine rooms since.
