Barcelona striker’s transfer to Serie A imminent – report

According to a recent report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are closing in on the capture of Memphis Depay.

The Barcelona attacker’s exit from Camp Nou could be imminent as the player’s representatives are currently in Italy. They are in talks with Juventus over personal terms for the player.

Barcelona have already okayed Depay’s move to Juventus. The club, after all, are in desperate need of funds as they look to register Jules Kounde by the end of the month.

Depay himself was apprehensive about leaving Barcelona earlier in the summer. The attacker was holding out for a move to a top club in Europe, and it appears he has already found it, in the form of Juventus.

Reeling from the loss of both Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala in the summer, the Bianconeri are desperate for attacking reinforcements.

The addition of someone like Memphis Depay, in that regard, could go a long way in helping Juve reinforce their options in front of goal. The Dutchman’s versatility could also make him an ideal strike partner to Dusan Vlahovic in the new season.

The report from Di Marzio suggests that Depay’s wage demands have increased in recent weeks. They are hoping to inform the Italian giants of exactly that and if the club give the green signal, the transfer could be as good as completed.

Depay’s potential exit might not be enough for Barcelona to register Kounde, though. The Dutchman is not expected to bring in the desired ̇€22 million required to register the Frenchman, so all the attention will be on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese striker has been closely linked with a move to Chelsea and his fate at Camp Nou could have a major impact in helping Barça carry out their final manoeuvres in the market over the coming week or so.
