Tottenham are closely monitoring RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, sources have told Football Insider.
The Londoners are stepping up their interest in the centre-back, 20, and we can reveal that scouts from the club watched him once again in Tuesday’s 2-0 Champions League win over Celtic in Glasgow.
Chelsea are also keeping close tabs on Gvardiol and will try to bring him to Stamford Bridge after recently agreeing a pre-contract with his Leipzig teammate Christopher Nkunku.

Tottenham have also had a long-term interest in the left-footed centre-back, who can also play left-back, stretching back two years.
Gvardiol was on their radar when he was at Dinamo Zagreb but Leipzig won the race to sign him in the summer of 2020 for £18million on a buy-to-loan deal.
The 12-times Croatia international was on the radar of the Premier League elite once again in the recent transfer window, before signing a new Leipzig contract on 1 September.
That deal runs until the summer of 2027 but has been widely reported to include a £44million release clause.
Gvardiol joined Leipzig in September 2020 before being loaned straight back to Dinamo for the rest of that campaign.
He has made a huge impact at the Red Bull outfit over the last season-and-a-bit, during his 52 appearances in all competitions.

Leeds have also had a long-time interest in Gvardiol but it is expected that his next move will be to an elite European club competing in the Champions League.
Manager Jesse Marsch is very familiar with Gvardiol from his time working within the Red Bull multi-club network.
