Expert lauds 'phenomenal' work by Tottenham chief as game-changing deal 'very advanced'

The appointment of Tottenham chief Todd Kline is proving to be worth every penny after an update in securing naming rights for the club’s stadium.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On Monday (10 October) David Ornstein reported Tottenham are in “meaningful talks” with Google over a naming rights deal for their stadium.

Wenham insists the deal, which Kline has been working on ever since his appointment in February 2021, must be close considering Ornstein’s record on reporting Tottenham stories before anyone else.

“What is interesting is the fact that it has got to Ornstein,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That tells me it is very, very advanced. If I remember correctly, Ornstein was the first one to announce Tottenham were close to playing this friendly in Israel.

“It was linked by him first and it is unusual for Premier League teams to play over in Israel due to the political complications.

“So Ornstein clearly has some sort of link at Tottenham. He was also the first to announce Tottenham had a new sleeve sponsor in the pipeline.

“That turned out to be Cinch so he is clearly in the know about lots of things at Tottenham and maybe Todd Kline feels that things are advanced enough with Google that it is time to brief selected journalists.

“I don’t know. But for Ornstein to feature this as the lead story in his Monday morning column, which is a big thing, it seems like this is more phenomenal work from Kline who is proving to be well worth the money.

“His knowledge in this massive stadium naming rights deals, he has done a few in America, seems to be paying off.”

In other news, one pundit has lambasted three Tottenham big names after a ‘hard to believe’ development.
