Kevin Campbell has called for Premier League referees to be more lenient after Liverpool’s win over Man City on Sunday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the Premier League is “a better spectacle” when officials allow the game to flow.
Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Man City was characterised by a number of contentious decisions.

Referee Anthony Taylor took a lenient approach to the high-profile fixture at Anfield.
As quoted by the Manchester Evening News (17 October), City defender Nathan Ake claimed “it’s good to let the game go” when quizzed on Taylor’s performance.
However, he also complained about the fact that the officials ruled out Phil Foden’s second-half strike because of a foul from Haaland in the build-up.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the matter, Campbell said: “I want it as well because it is a better spectacle.
“It is much better to watch. When the whistle is blown every two minutes… It is better to let the game flow.
“At the end of the day, it is a game of football. It should be entertaining. I want to see the ball in play for as long as possible.

“We do not want to see the referee blowing every few minutes so the opposition can get everyone behind the ball again. We do not want that in football.
“I do not commend the authorities much but I think it would be a really good move for referees to be more lenient across the board.”
