Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi for his drastic improvement under Frank Lampard.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Spurs goalkeeper was “amazed” by the 26-year-old’s assist and performance against Crystal Palace on Saturday (22 October).

Iwobi impressed in a 3-0 win for the Toffees over Palace at Goodison Park.

As shown on Everton’s Twitter, the Nigeria international provided an intelligent assist for Dwight McNeil’s goal.

It was Iwobi’s sixth assist in 13 appearances across all competitions this season.

Speaking to club media post-match (23 October), the midfielder lauded his manager and revealed he feels “almost unstoppable” in current form.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Iwob’s display against Palace and form this season, Robinson said: I have been really impressed with him this season.

“He was brilliant at the weekend.

“His all-round game has improved since Frank Lampard has come in. He is looking like a top player.

“When he left Arsenal there was question marks about his consistency and end product. We are seeing more quality from him in a deeper role.

“The back heel for the goal was amazing. He showed great awareness.

“He is just getting better and better. The system that Frank plays really suits him. Iwobi is a much better player than he was two years ago. He is improving game by game.”
