Barcelona want to take advantage of the international break by putting their heads into the contractual side of things.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the team will try to resolve as many as seven cases, which includes the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Alejandro Balde, Inaki Pena, Marcos Alonso, Hector Bellerin, Sergi Roberto and club captain Sergio Busquets.
Busquets’ ongoing deal with the team runs until 2023 and it is believed that the midfielder will now look for an opportunity to play in the Major League Soccer (MLS) mostly because he is aware of the criticism that has been directed towards him this season.
It’s no secret that the team wants to tie him up. For that, there has been an unsuccessful attempt on their part where they approached the player with a two-year contract. The veteran, however, rejected the proposal as he wants to pursue the rest of his career elsewhere.
Another reason why he rejected the proposal was that he believes Barcelona did not offer him enough guarantees of the financial payments
As reported before, Busquets earns around €13 million gross per season plus bonuses at Barcelona. This season, he received a large chunk of the amount that he owned from the last campaign which was, in fact, 75% of his salary.
At 34 years of age, he understands it is better to look for other avenues rather than stay at the club until he becomes an unwanted commodity. And this is exactly why he wants to move to the United States, with Inter Miami being the expected destination.
Once he believes it’s time for him to hang his boots, he will start preparing himself to become a professional coach.
It seems the player has a perfect roadmap in place at the moment and judging by the look of things, his journey with Barcelona might as well conclude at the end of the season.
