In a major development, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla is reporting that Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie is willing to join Inter Milan in the ongoing transfer window amidst talks of a swap deal involving Marcelo Brozovic.
Kessie arrived at Barça in the summer window but has failed to settle down to his new environs and has found game-time hard to come by under Xavi Hernandez.
Even when he has taken the field, the 26-year-old Ivorian has not looked convincing, leading to questions over his adaptability to the Catalans’ philosophy and methods.
That, coupled with the Blaugrana’s need for a replacement for Sergio Busquets, gave way to speculations over a possible swap deal with Inter Milan which would see Kessie return to Italy while Brozovic would arrive at Camp Nou.
The Nerazzurri are intent on signing Kessie as they look to add a more physical presence alongside Hakan Calhanoglu in the middle of the park.
Until recently, though, it was believed that the Barcelona midfielder was not open to an exit and wanted to stay put in La Liga. But, it seems like Kessie has now changed his stance and would be willing to make the switch to Inter Milan.
In fact, the report from Alfredo Pedulla goes on to add that the midfielder has two other offers which he has put on hold as he would prefer to move back to Serie A and join Inter Milan.
Given that both players are on a similar wage, a direct swap deal could be possible, although there could be demands for some financial compensation from Joan Laporta & co.
Inter Milan are currently away in Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana and discussions could kick on after the match on Wednesday, with Kessie now open to the idea of returning to Italy.
