Barcelona set to approach FIFA with late transfer case

Barcelona’s pursuit of Julian Araujo last night took a turn for the worse as the club were not able to finalise the deal. It has been reported that the paperwork for the deal arrived a minute late, even though all parties had reached an agreement over the move.

This has led to uncertainty on whether or not the transfer can be complicated. Although the transfer market is officially over, a more comprehensive decision on the Araujo transfer will be made in the near future.

With confusion all around, Barcelona are expected to approach FIFA over the Julian Araujo case, reports Toni Juanmarti. They are set to come up with their own explanation and urge the governing body to approve the transfer. The saga regarding the right-back is not expected to end anytime soon.

Araujo had agreed to a move to Camp Nou during the final hours of the transfer market, with the defender reportedly signing a permanent deal until 2026.

But paperwork arriving late, it remains to be seen whether or not Barcelona can get this deal over the line.

Araujo’s arrival at Camp Nou could be integral given the fact that the Catalans had already sanctioned the sale of Hector Bellerin on the transfer deadline day, effectively leaving Xavi Hernandez with no recognised right-back at his disposal.
