Barcelona concerned by 19-year-old prospect’s attitude – report

With Pedri and Gavi unavailable for Barcelona’s clash against Manchester United later this week, many echoed the thought that Pablo Torre was the most natural replacement on the night.

The youngster boasts a special profile with an ability to cut through defences with his creativity, much like the famed Blaugrana duo. The one downside, however, is that the youngster has barely been tested so far by Xavi Hernandez and thus comes off as a risky option.

According to reports from Adrian Sanchez, Barcelona are bothered by Torre’s attitude. They feel that the youngster should earn his place in the first team through merit, and do not like the fact that he is refusing to play for Barca Atletic.

The youngster has only accumulated around 200 minutes for the Catalan heavyweights so far despite being brought in at Xavi’s personal request. While it seems indisciplined, Torre’s frustration is not difficult to understand.

The youngster was once again told by the coach to warm up during Barcelona’s game over Cadiz at the weekend. Despite having the Manchester United situation at hand, a two-goal lead over Cadiz, and the player warmed up, the manager sent him back to the bench.

At the same time, however, the Catalans’ idea of the player earning a first-team place is not flawed.

Torre played a big part in the team’s 4-3 win over Intercity in the Copa del Rey last month, providing an assist for Ronald Araujo’s opener and recording four key passes on the night.

It remains to be seen if the manager trusts Torre for the big Europa League clash coming midweek. If recent games are anything to go by, however, the chances seem slim.
