Barcelona heavyweights receive messages from Real Madrid stars over Gavi’s behaviour – report

Pedri and Gavi may just be 20 and 18 years old respectively, but they are already integral parts of Barcelona without whom the team does not operate the same. Their impact on the team is so strong that they are compared to the legendary duo of Xavi and Andres Iniesta on the field.

The Canary Islander is known for his effortless passing, vision and elegance on the ball. Gavi, on the other hand, is a player who plays for the badge with his all in every minute on the field. His passion and commitment make him one to lookout for.

According to reports from Adrian Sanchez, the teenager’s rash decisions on the field have not gone down well at Real Madrid. Several players of Carlo Ancelotti’s side have sent messages to Barcelona heavyweights asking them to speak to Gavi about his behaviour.

A possible point of trigger for the Real Madrid dressing room seems to have been the Golden Boy’s shove on Dani Ceballos in El Clasico this past Sunday, with Los Blancos deeming his behaviour ‘unsportsmanlike’.

Yet, one should be reminded that the youngster did so only because that Real Madrid midfielder fouled Robert Lewandowski a second before the altercation.

Nonetheless, Real Madrid stars have reportedly contacted their Barcelona counterparts to speak with Gavi about his behaviour.

The request is ironic, however, when one considers the extent to which Real Madrid players used to go against players like Lionel Messi on the field in the past. Los Blancos have usually been the rasher of the two sides over the past decade with several Clasicos ending in heated altercations.

The game between Real Madrid and Barcelona is one that rides on the passion of the players and their commitment to the badge. In that respect, Gavi should be free to play his game and the onus of reprimanding him should stay with the referee.
