Barcelona still believe forward has ‘world-class’ potential, will only sell for huge offers

The future of Ansi Fati has been a topic of discussion in Barcelona this season. With the forward struggling to recover his old self after injuries, many expect that he could leave Barcelona at the end of the season.

Fati has indeed fallen out of favour lately. Despite donning the prestigious number ten kit for Barça, the winger has racked up only nine starts in the league this term, scoring three goals in 24 appearances. He has fallen behind the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha and Ferran Torres in the pecking order.

Fati’s struggles have led to speculations over his future, with Barcelona reportedly considering whether or not they should sell or loan the attacker in the coming summer.

A recent report from SPORT has offered an update on the future of Fati, suggesting that Barcelona and Jorge Mendes are finding it difficult to reach a consensus over the potential sale of the explosive attacker in the coming summer.

The price tag is the biggest problem. Barça, for their part, consider Fati a ‘world class’ talent and are not expected to consider a sale unless they receive an ‘astronomical’ offer for the Spanish international.

Fati’s agent, though, has other ideas. Jorge Mendes is aware of the fact that there are many Premier League clubs who are more than willing to pay for Fati in the coming summer.

But the gap between Barcelona’s demands and what the club are willing to offer is extremely high right now.

However, the report suggests that the situation may change at any given time, especially considering the fact that Barcelona are suffering from economic turmoil and may require fresh revenue if they are to balance the books in the coming summer.

Ansu Fati, for his part, continues to remain steadfast in his desire to stay and succeed at Barcelona. But given his form and the club’s economic situation an exit is not off the table.
