RASMUS HOJLUND HEADING TO ARSENAL AS PRICE EMERGES

Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase to sign Rasmus Hojlund this summer – though any deal now comes with a lofty price.

The Atalanta striker is enjoying a spectacular season after smashing in 17 goals in 36 games in all appearances. That tally includes an impressive five goals in just two games for Denmark – form which has seen him draw comparisons to Erling Haaland.

And although the Serie A side only signed the 20-year-old last summer, the chance to make a quick killing is not lost on them.

Indeed, they paid Sturm Graz just €17m for his services – but now they are willing to cash in for more than three times the price.

To that end, Ekstra Bladet claim Atalanta are putting a £44m – £52.8m (€50m – €60m) fee on his head.

That has seen the striker linked with a move to Manchester United, with the player recently admitting his affection for the Red Devils.

And while Erik ten Hag is an admirer, he is reportedly keen to pursue other targets – namely Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane – first.

Now reports in Italy claim a move to Arsenal looks to be on the cards.

The Gunners are reportedly willing to pay a large percentage of his asking price up front, giving them an advantage over all their rivals.

To that end, Calciomercato reports the Gunners are now favourites to seal his signature.

Arsenal want Jesper Lindstrom to follow Hojlund this summer

Indeed, sporting director Edu is seemingly ready to act fast to get that deal done. And the speed of that move will seemingly prevent any hopes Ten Hag has of moving for the striker.

And he will not be the only Danish star moving to Arsenal this summer, either, it seems.

To that end, Germany’s Sport1 claims the Gunners are also stepping up plans to recruit Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom.

The midfielder is earning himself a sparkling reputation in the Bundesliga with some excellent displays. He has 14 goals from 70 appearances and is often one of his side’s best performers.

But the report claims they will be unable to resist an approach from Arsenal for the 23-year-old.

And Sport1 claims an offer of £26.3m (€30m) will be enough to convince them to sell.

If Arsenal complete both deals, they will be landing two of Denmark’s top generational talents for a combined £79.1m (€90m).
