Raphinha speaks ahead of El Clasico: “I hope Camp Nou makes it tough for Madrid”

Barcelona are set to lock horns with Real Madrid this evening, with the hosts looking to register three consecutive wins against their arch-rivals this calendar year.

Speaking ahead of the game, Robert Lewandowski has already stressed the importance of playing at home. Now, his attacking teammate Raphinha, too, has echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that a packed Camp Nou could make life difficult for Real Madrid.

“I hope Camp Nou will be full of supporters to make life difficult for Real Madrid,” Raphinha said.

With six La Liga goals in 24 matches, Raphinha may not have had a dream start to his career at Camp Nou. However, he has been an integral figure in Barcelona’s attack since the turn of the year, especially with Ousmane Dembele spending time on the sidelines.

Raphinha has notably scored in his last two league matches, both of which turned out to be winners. The Brazilian international will be hoping for a similar outcome when Barcelona take on Real Madrid this evening.

“The most important thing is to win and we want that badly, but we also want to return to possession as we did at the beginning of the season,” Raphinha added, expressing his desire to win trophies with Barcelona.

Although the Catalans might have been knocked out of the European competitions, they have an excellent chance of clinching the league title, especially if they can secure a win over Real Madrid. They are also in a good position to book tickets to the final of Copa Del Rey, having registered a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the semifinal.
