Having cemented its status as the world’s richest football league, the Premier League is unsurprisingly home to some of the highest-paid players in the world.
Every Premier League club now receives hundreds of millions in television money and average pay packets have subsequently skyrocketed in recent years
Using data from Sportrac, we’ve taken a look at the top five highest-earning players from each Premier League club.
Note: we’ve not included any players that are currently on loan at a Premier League side as their wage bill is often divided between two clubs.
Arsenal
1. Gabriel Jesus – £265,000-per-week
2. Thomas Partey – £200,000-per-week
3. Oleksandr Zinchenko – £150,000-per-week
4. Granit Xhaka – £120,000-per-week
4= Ben White – £120,000-per-week
Jesus and Zinchenko joined Arsenal from Manchester City last summer and the duo were both given huge pay rises by the north London side.
According to reports, Bukayo Saka is set to take Jesus’ spot on this list by signing a new £300,000-a-week deal at Arsenal in the coming weeks.
Aston Villa
1. Lucas Digne – £163,462-per-week
2. Boubacar Kamara – £150,000-per-week
3. Philippe Coutinho – £125,000-per-week
4. Emiliano Martinez – £120,000-per-week
5. Leon Bailey – £100,000-per-week
5= Diego Carlos – £100,000-per-week
Digne is the top earner at Villa but has recently lost his place in Unai Emery’s starting XI following Alex Moreno’s arrival from Real Betis.
Coutinho also finds himself on the fringes of the Villa side and he took a huge pay cut in order to join the club, seeing his £470,000-a-week wage go down to around £125,000-a-week.
Bournemouth
1. Jordan Zemura – £80,000-per-week
2. David Brooks – £55,000-per-week
3. Jefferson Lerma – £55,000-per-week
4. Norberto Murara – £50,000-per-week
4= Marcos Senesi – £50,000-per-week
4= Dominic Solanke – £50,000-per-week
Despite being the top earner at Bournemouth, Zemura has decided to leave the Vitality Stadium and will join Udinese on a free transfer at the end of the 2022/23 season.
According to the Daily Echo, Bournemouth’s final contract offer wasn‘t even acknowledged by either Zemura or his representatives.
Brentford
1. Ben Mee – £55,000-per-week
2. Bryan Mbeumo – £45,000-per-week
3. Kristoffer Ajer – £35,000-per-week
3= Rico Henry – £35,000-per-week
3= Keane Lewis-Potter – £35,000-per-week
3= Christian Norgaard – £35,000-per-week
Brentford are widely regarded to be among the best-run and most financially sustainable clubs in England and it’s easy to see why.
They haven’t broken their wage structure for any player and the likes of David Raya and Ivan Toney are on less than £30,000-a-week.
Brighton
1. Adam Lallana – £90,385-per-week
2. Lewis Dunk – £75,000-per-week
3. Pascal Gross – £60,000-per-week
4. Adam Webster – £55,000-per-week
4= Danny Welbeck – £55,000-per-week
Alongside Brentford, Brighton are also regarded as a well-run club and none of their players earn £100,000-per-week.
Lallana, who joined the Seagulls on a free transfer from Liverpool in 2020, currently tops their wage chart and recently extended his deal with the club by a further year until the summer of 2024.
Chelsea
1. Raheem Sterling – £325,000-per-week
2. Kalidou Koulibaly – £295,000-per-week
3. N’Golo Kante – £290,000-per-week
4. Reece James – £250,000-per-week
5. Wesley Fofana – £200,000-per-week
Sterling shot straight to the top of Chelsea’s highest earners list when he signed a five-year contract worth around £325,000 a week last summer.
Koulibaly and Fofana also moved to Stamford Bridge following Todd Boehly’s takeover in the summer of 2022 and they are among Chelsea’s top five earners.
Crystal Palace
1. Wilfried Zaha – £130,000-per-week
2. Odsonne Edouard – £94,808-per-week
3. Nathaniel Clyne – £80,769-per-week
4. Joachim Andersen – £79,423-per-week
5. Vicente Guaita – £77,000-per-week
Zaha is already Palace’s top earner but has reportedly been offered £200,000-per-week to sign a new deal with the club before his contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Everton

1= Yerry Mina – £120,000-per-week
4. Jordan Pickford – £100,000-per-week
4= Dominic Calvert-Lewin – £100,000-per-week
4= Amadou Onana – £100,000-per-week

Everton have seven players on at least £100,000-per-week and their players will reportedly remain on the same basic salaries even if they are relegated.
Fulham

3. Issa Diop – £70,000-per-week
4. Kenny Tete – £50,962-per-week
5. Joao Palhinha – £50,000-per-week

After four years at Arsenal, Leno moved across London and signed for Fulham last summer but only had to take a £10,000-a-week pay cut.
Leeds United
1. Rodrigo – £100,000-per-week
2. Patrick Bamford – £70,000-per-week
3. Luis Sinisterra – £65,000-per-week
4. Junior Firpo – £60,000-per-week
5. Tyler Adams – £55,000-per-week

Leicester City

2. James Maddison – £110,000-per-week
3. Jonny Evans – £100,000-per-week

Liverpool

2. Virgil Van Dijk – £220,000-per-week
3. Thiago Alcantara – £200,000-per-week
4. Trent Alexander-Arnold – £180,000-per-week
4= Roberto Firmino – £180,000-per-week
4= Fabinho – £180,000-per-week
Salah won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2021/22 and then signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool after a period of lengthy negotiations.
The deal saw his wages go from £200,000-per-week to £350,000-per-week, making him the highest-paid player in the club’s illustrious history.
Manchester City
1. Kevin De Bruyne – £400,000-per-week
2. Erling Haaland – £375,000-per-week
3. Jack Grealish – £300,000-per-week
4. John Stones – £250,000-per-week
5. Phil Foden – £225,000-per-week
Widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, it is no surprise that De Bruyne is the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
He’s closely followed by teammate Erling Haaland, who reportedly has a series of bonuses in his contract that could see his weekly wage surge beyond the £850,000 mark.
Manchester United
1. David De Gea – £375,000-per-week
2. Jadon Sancho – £350,000-per-week
3. Raphael Varane – £340,000-per-week
4. Casemiro – £300,000-per-week
5. Anthony Martial – £250,000-per-week
De Gea became the best-paid player in the Premier League after signing a contract extension at United in 2019 but has since been usurped by De Bruyne.
United have been looking to address their wage structure in recent months, and the goalkeeper has reportedly agreed to take a substantial pay cut in order to prolong his stay at Old Trafford.
Newcastle United
1. Bruno Guimaraes – £120,000-per-week
1= Alexander Isak – £120,000-per-week
3. Matt Targett – £100,000-per-week
3= Kieran Trippier – £100,000-per-week
5. Sven Botman – £90,000-per-week
Guimaraes and Isak both joined Newcastle in big-money deals in 2022 and the duo have justified the price tag and their £120,000-per-week wages.
Newcastle’s wage bill looks set to rise in 2023 as The Athletic report that the Public Investment Fund have introduced clauses to deals which include salary increases for competing in Europe.
Nottingham Forest
1. Jesse Lingard – £200,000-per-week
2. Morgan Gibbs-White – £80,000-per-week
3. Taiwo Awoniyi – £50,000-per-week
3= Neco Williams – £50,000-per-week
5. Cheikhou Kouyate – £45,000-per-week
5= Moussa Niakhate – £45,000-per-week
West Ham reportedly offered Lingard a salary of £127,000-a-week last summer but Forest won the race for his signature after agreeing to pay him £200,000-a-week.
The 30-year-old has struggled to justify those huge wages and is yet to register a Premier League goal or assist for Forest.
Southampton
1. James Ward-Prowse – £100,000-per-week
2. Theo Walcott – £75,000-per-week
3. Joe Aribo – £70,000-per-week
4. Stuart Armstrong – £65,000-per-week
4= Moussa Djenepo – £65,000-per-week
Ward-Prowse came through Southampton’s academy and became the club’s highest-paid player of all time after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal in August 2021.
Tottenham
1. Harry Kane – £200,000-per-week
2. Son Heung-min – £192,000-per-week
3. Ivan Perisic – £178,269-per-week
4. Cristian Romero – £165,000-per-week
5. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – £101,923-per-week
Kane has just over a year remaining on his contract at Tottenham and could reportedly see his current £200,000-a-week salary increase to £300,000 if he chooses to join Manchester United in the summer.
West Ham United
1. Lucas Paqueta – £150,000-per-week
2. Kurt Zouma – £120,000-per-week
2= Alphonse Areola – £120,000-per-week
4. Emerson Palmieri – £95,000-per-week
5. Gianluca Scamacca – £90,000-per-week
Paqueta became West Ham’s record signing after completing a £51m move from Lyon last summer and also replaced Kurt Zouma as their highest earner.
The Hammers are willing to give Declan Rice a new contract worth £200,000-per-week, but he looks set to leave at the end of the season.
Wolves
1. Raul Jimenez – £100,000-per-week
1= Joao Moutinho – £100,000-per-week
3. Goncalo Guedes – £90,000-per-week
4. Matheus Nunes – £85,000-per-week
5. Nelson Semedo – £80,000-per-week
Wolves’ wage bill could fall significantly at the end of the 2022/23 season as top earners Jimenez, Moutinho and Semedo are all out of contract.
