Lionel Messi’s potential move to Saudi Arabia is ‘cold’ now – Romero

Barcelona are in hot pursuit of a certain Lionel Messi, who is set to leave PSG at the end of the season on a free transfer. He joined them two seasons ago, and two back-to-back Ligue 1 titles later, he has decided to call his time in Paris quits.

The same has been confirmed by coach Christophe Galtier ahead of PSG’s final game of the season, against Clermont Foot, saying, “I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont.”

Leo prefers a move back to Barcelona, with the club publicly admitting they are looking to bring him back. However, the player is also in a rush to make a decision as he does not want to be left hanging like the last time.

Another option on his table is an offer from Saudi Arabia – the biggest in the history of the sport, according to reports. Al-Hilal would be the club to sign him should he agree, but according to a report by Gerard Romero, the operation has gone cold.

There were also reports yesterday suggesting that the offer from Saudi Arabia, for Messi, would expire in 15 days. The player’s entourage, as such, were pushing Barcelona for a final decision.

However, things have changed in the last few hours, as La Liga are apparently ready to give Barcelona the green light for their financial feasibility plan. They have told them to kickstart the exit operations, which would allow them to move forward with signings.

Fortunately for them, Leo has agreed to lower his PSG salary, and will be earning pretty much the same wages as Robert Lewandowski.

In fact, if reports are to be believed, his salary will be only €1 more than Lewa as a mark of repsect.

He would also take the #10 jersey and the captain’s armband immediately after his return.
