Official: Barcelona Femeni win the Champions League, beating Wolfsburg 3-2

Barcelona Femeni have officially been crowned champions of Europe once again, beating Wolfsburg 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League final at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

The game unfolded in dramatic fashion, with the Catalans conceding in the 3rd minutes of the game before Wolfsburg doubled their lead in the 37th minute. Barcelona were creating chances, but were not able to convert them.

They continued on the front-foot in the second half, this time netting the first goal in the 48th minute through Patricia Guijarro. She then brought the blaugranes back to level with another goal two minutes later.

Fridolina Rolfo then scored the winner 20 minutes later, courtesy of an assist from Mariona Caldentey.

Barça have already been crowned champions of La Liga once again this season, winning 29 out of 31 games, while scoring 118 goals. They also won the Spanish Super Cup, defeating Real Sociedad 0-3 in the final.

This Champions League win, though, is extra special, especially since they lost the final last season to Olympique Lyonnais. Had they won that, they would have completed a three-peat of the UCL.
