Barcelona and Athletico Parananese have completed all the necessary documentation for young forward Vitor Roque’s transfer and if a report from Mundo Deportivo is to be believed, the Catalan team will make his signing official this Wednesday.
It is said that the two teams signed the final contracts for the transfer last Sunday and both of them will make it official this Wednesday.
As part of the agreement, Barcelona will pay the Brazilian side €30 million upfront with €31 million in add-ons. As part of the bonus, €26 million have been reserved for goals and trophies while the remaining €5 million will be paid if the player ever ends up in the top three of the Ballon d’Or.
Meanwhile, it is also believed that Athletico Parananese have reserved 20% amount of the transfer for future sale.
As far as his contract is concerned, the Blaugrana management decided to add one more year to his deal, meaning that he will sign a long-term contract until June 2030 and his termination clause has been set at €1000 million.
Now, it is interesting to note that Barcelona have everything in place to sign Roque. While their initial plan is to bring him in this summer, if they fail while complying with the Financial Fair Play, the forward will join the team in January 2024.
Roque has been one of the most wanted South American talents this summer. Apart from Barcelona, the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, and even Paris Saint-Germain were interested in his acquisition.
While these suitors are well and truly capable of paying him big bucks, the youngster decided to join Barcelona instead.
In fact, after signing the documents of his transfer, the 18-year-old centre-forward made a promise to his family and close ones, saying, “I assure you that I am going to succeed at Barça.”
An official announcement regarding his move will be made on Wednesday, following which he will become the club’s third major summer signing after Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez.
