Manchester City Football Club is one of the most successful clubs in English football history. Manchester City was founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton). The club changed its name to Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887, and then to Manchester City in 1894. The club's first home ground was Hyde Road, and the team's early years were marked by a lack of success. However, Manchester City's fortunes changed in the 1930s, when the club won two league titles and the FA Cup.
