Barcelona slap €100 million price tag on out-of-form star; Man United, Saudi clubs interested

Journalist Albert Masnou has confirmed via SPORT that Barcelona are willing to listen to offers for Raphinha during the January transfer market.

The reporter adds that they value him at €100 million and although the player is reluctant to leave, the team from Catalonia will listen to every approach. As such, Manchester United’s interest in the former Leeds forward is well documented while Saudi Arabian teams are in the hunt as well.

A potential swap with Manchester United?

Manchester United have inquired with Barcelona regarding a potential exchange involving Jadon Sancho, who has struggled to replicate his previous form at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag’s management, unlike his notable performances during his time at Dortmund.

This possibility has been discussed, and its progression will be monitored in the upcoming weeks. However, there have been reports claiming that the Blaugrana are not interested in entertaining a swap deal at all.

What about Saudi’s interest and what is Barcelona’s demand?

Saudi Arabia emerges as another potential destination for the Brazilian, drawing interest from the managers who have initiated talks with Barcelona regarding a potential transfer.

The Catalan club, facing financial challenges, has set an ambitious price of €100 million and this transfer fee could prove beneficial for Barcelona’s economic situation.

While Raphinha expresses a clear preference to stay at Barça, the winter transfer market will reveal the extent of interest from Manchester or Saudi Arabia and whether substantial bids could potentially influence the player’s decision or prompt a change of scenery.

It is noteworthy that Deco, Raphinha’s agent, no longer fulfils this role since assuming sports management at Barcelona.

The current absence of a designated agent for Raphinha leaves Deco with considerable influence over the Brazilian player’s future and the unfolding events in the coming weeks will shed light on the direction his career may take.
