Barcelona will begin their Copa del Rey journey from the first week of next month entering the Round of 32 stages.
And, they have learnt their first opponents in the competition, with the Catalans being drawn against fourth division club UD Barbastro.
The draw for the last 32 of the Copa del Rey was held today at the RFEF headquarters at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, with Barça, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Osasuna – teams who will play the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia in January, entering the draw.
Xavi Hernandez’s side were going to be paired with a modest opponent, coming from the First and Second RFEF Divisions, with the game being a one-off away tie on Sunday 7 January as they will then have to travel to Riyadh to face Osasuna in the semi-final of the Super Cup.
Thus, the opponent that the draw finally gave them was UD Barbastro from the Second RFEF, the club who eliminated Aleria in the previous round.

Barcelona are the club with the most Copa del Rey trophy wins (31) since they lifted the first title in the 1909/10 campaign. Their last triumph came back in the 2020/21 campaign under Ronald Koeman.
Last season, the Blaugrana were eliminated in the semifinals by arch-rivals and eventual winners Real Madrid. As such, Xavi & co. will be eager to do one better this time out.
