Xavi outlines Barcelona’s objectives for 2024: “Achieve as many titles as possible”

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona first-team manager Xavi Hernandez has revealed his wish for 2024, stating that the aim will be to win as many titles as possible in the new year.

The Blaugrana enjoyed a successful 2023, winning the Spanish Super Cup and the La Liga title, bringing an end to the club’s trophyless run since 2021.

But things have not been going all too well for the reigning champions this time out as they find themselves trailing Real Madrid and Girona in the league.

Having endured some slip-ups in recent times, the Blaugrana remain confident that things will take a turn for the better starting from the Spanish Super Cup next month.

Now, Xavi has revealed what he wishes for the team in 2024, stating that he wants Barcelona to win every title possible.

“My wish for 2024 and the 125th anniversary of the club’s founding is health, peace and sporting successes for the entire club, especially in football. I hope we work for that. On the sporting level we want to achieve as many titles as possible,” Xavi said.

“It is true that we had a good year last year, but of course, the goals for this year still stand. I ask that 2024 be at least as good as 2023,” he added.

Things will not be easy for Barcelona though as they are currently fourth in the table, trailing the leaders Real Madrid by seven points.

Furthermore, they face a tricky challenge in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in the form of Serie A champions Napoli.

Meanwhile, the Catalans are scheduled to play Osasuna in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup, and should they prevail, they would face one of Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the main event.
