Barcelona are great admirers of €80 million-rated Serie A winger with 11 goal contributions

A few days ago, we reported that Barcelona are contemplating the acquisition of a left-winger and for that, a few names have already been shortlisted.

Among the candidates the Blaugrana have on their agenda is a certain Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Napoli and Roger Torello has reported via Mundo Deportivo that the 23-year-old is one of the most liked wingers within the Barcelona management.

It is to be noted that while Barcelona have other objectives to fulfil, the team from Catalonia will not shy away from signing a left winger if the situation permits.

For that to be achieved, though, the management will either have to sanction player sales and if not, other alternatives will be explored

What makes Kvaratskhelia the most liked?

With Napoli facing a challenging period and uncertainties surrounding the tenure of coach Walter Mazzarri, the focus has naturally shifted to the future of Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian forward, who is known for his dribbling, showcased his prowess in the Champions League group stage this season, leading the charts as the top dribbler with an impressive tally of 46 successful dribbles.

This achievement surpassed notable players like Kylian Mbappe (44) and Rafa Leao (36).

Beyond his exceptional dribbling abilities, Kvaratskhelia’s offensive impact extends to his goal-scoring and playmaking contributions.

Currently, he stands as Napoli’s second-highest goal-scorer, netting six goals, trailing only Victor Osimhen, the team’s top scorer with seven goals. He also has five assists to his name.

Signing Kvaratskhelia will be difficult

Kvaratskhelia, whose market value stands at €80 million, has a contract with Napoli that extends until 2027 and while he has emerged as a potential candidate under consideration to strengthen their left-wing position, things are not that straightforward for Barcelona.

Now, he was initially linked with Real Madrid but that possibility can now be ruled out due to their impending acquisition of Kylian Mbappe. Getting him to Barcelona, however, poses a big challenge mostly because the Blaugrana are not financially secure.

In the meantime, Wednesday’s match between Napoli and Barcelona will serve as a crucial test for the latter to evaluate whether pursuing his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window is a worthwhile effort.
