Five players through which Barcelona aim to raise €200 million in transfer fees

Barcelona will have their work cut out in the summer transfer window, as lightening the wage bill and returning to the 1:1 rule in La Liga will be necessary prerequisites to secure new signings.

As such, a number of Barça players could be escorted to the exit door this summer, with the Catalan giants deeming certain players disposable.

Now, SPORT have shed light on Barça’s transfer list this summer, pointing out the five players Barcelona will potentially cash out on and aim to receive €200 million in the forthcoming transfer window.

Barcelona have decided that Fati does not warrant a place back in the Barcelona squad, considering his injury woes and irregular performances.

The player is presently on loan at Brighton and could fetch a decent fee if the Catalan giants look to offload him permanently.

Otherwise, a second loan spell at the English club could also materialize, with Roberto De Zerbi eager to extract Fati’s full potential.

Clement Lenglet

There was a lot of discussion leading up to the January transfer window regarding Barcelona terminating Clement Lenglet’s loan at Aston Villa because the defender was barely playing.

Since then, though, the Frenchman’s situation has taken a U-turn, to the point where Aston Villa is now considering the idea of permanently signing him from Barcelona in the summer.

The 28-year-old clearly has no future in Barcelona due to his track record and the overbooking of defenders in the squad, which implies the Catalans will be eager to get him off the book this summer.

Eric Garcia

Similar to Clement Lenglet, Garcia has been faring well on loan. The central defender has become a mainstay for Girona, notably impressing with his pristine ball-playing abilities.

In fact, the Spanish center-back has notched just under 2000 minutes for Girona across 24 matches.

Due to his importance to coach Michel, the likelihood of Girona executing a permanent purchase is seemingly high.

And Barcelona will not be hesitant to comply, as they will receive some much-needed cash to solve their finances.

Andreas Christensen or Jules Kounde

As highlighted, Barcelona have no shortage of defenders at the moment. The rise of Pau Cubarsi and the emergence of Mika Faye have created an abundance of competition.

With the club in a position to afford some cuts at the back, one of Jules Kounde or Andreas Christensen may end up having to take the fall.

The fact that both players have been playing out of position due to the options at center-back exemplifies their waning status.

Christensen’s increasing market value makes him a lucrative asset, and the fact that he suffers from injuries regularly means Barcelona can potentially make do with his departure.

Meanwhile, Kounde has a fair amount of suitors in the Premier League, and teams may be prepared to shell out a significant amount of money to sign the €60 million-rated (Transfermarkt) defender in the summer, namely Chelsea and Manchester United.

Raphinha

Most recently, Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal dished out a whopping €100 million offer for Raphinha.

In short, the Brazilian winger is being eyed by a number of sides from both Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Despite his utility as a creative threat, the Catalan giants could find a hefty proposition for Raphinha extremely alluring, especially considering Barcelona’s financial predicament.
