As per SoccerTransfers, the Saudi Football Federation has contacted the Italian tactician with an ambitious proposal to lead their national team. The move comes as part of the kingdom’s plan to elevate their soccer ahead of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which they will host.
“The Saudi Arabians have been in contact with Ancelotti for some time now, making it clear that they want him and would outpay any other employer to get him,” journalist Duncan Castles told The Transfers Podcast. “They want him to be the first part of their programme to prepare a national team for the World Cup that they will host in 2034.”
The Italian coach, known for his calm demeanor and tactical wisdom, hasn’t ruled out the opportunity. “Why not? If I want to keep coaching after I finish here, why not coach in Saudi Arabia?” the Italian was recently quoted as saying when asked about a potential move.
His comments have only fanned the flames of speculation. During a press conference earlier this year, when jokingly asked if he would accept a $569 million offer from Saudi Arabia, he quipped: “Look, I wouldn’t even book the flight.
