Luis Suárez’s ongoing struggles: The tough streak he can’t break with Inter Miami in MLS

Inter Miami is coming off a scoreless draw in their visit to Chicago Fire and, despite maintaining their unbeaten record in Major League Soccer, they failed to regain the lead in the Eastern Conference. Another weekend has passed and Luis Suárez has extended an adverse streak that he is not managing to break with “Las Garzas” (The Herons).

“El Pistolero” (The Gunman) was one of the main architects of Inter’s Supporters’ Shield last season, achieving a record of points in the regular stage, being one of the top scorers of the tournament and postulating as a reference when Lionel Messi was absent due to injury. In total, he scored 21 goals in 30 matches during the previous tournament.

Although his start to the semester is being good in terms of contribution to the team, Lucho drags an interesting drought streak that he will seek to break once and for all the next match, when Javier Mascherano travels to face Columbus Crew on Saturday, April 19 from 4:30 PM ET. What is the bad moment of the striker about?

Suárez’s negative streak in MLS

The Uruguayan accumulates six matches without converting for those of Florida, something that did not happen to him during the previous course. His last celebration was March 13 in the 2-0 victory at home against the Cavalier of Jamaica, for the return of the round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup. As for the current MLS, his only shout was against Houston Dynamo in the 4-1 victory of last March 2. In that meeting he shone, also contributing three assists.

Since that great afternoon in Texas, Suárez has not managed to meet again with his traditional celebration. The matches against Charlotte FC, Atlanta United, Philadelphia Union, Toronto FC and Chicago Fire have already passed, completing the 90′ in most of them, and he still cannot score. Yes, in the middle he contributed two passes of goal. For now, he accumulates four goals and six assists in 13 PJ during the season. Will he manage to reverse the situation this weekend?
