Thomas Muller & Manuel Neuer closing in on new Bayern Munich contracts

The duo are Bayern legends

Veteran duo Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller are close to signing new deals with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The Bavarian side have dominated the last decade of German football with the two as consistent performers, while they have also claimed two Champions League titles in that time.

Both of their contracts expire at the end of next season, but Sky Sports report that they are on the verge of penning extensions at the Allianz Arena.

They are expected to extend their stays at Bayern until at least 2025.

Muller made his Bayern debut way back in 2008 after rising through the club's youth ranks and has gone on to make 623 appearances for them (only Sepp Maier and Oliver Kahn have made more), scoring 226 goals (third behind Gerd Muller and Robert Lewandowski).

Neuer signed from Schalke in the summer of 2011, making 470 appearances and revolutionising the role of the modern goalkeeper.

Backup goalkeeper Sven Ulreich is also expected to sign a new contract with Die Roten with his current terms expiring in the summer.

Fellow goalkeeper Alexander Nubel, who signed from Schalke back in 2020, is set to spend another year out on loan after his spell with Monaco this season and his long-term future will be decided at the end of next term.
