Exclusive: Liverpool plot move to sign striker sensation who's wowed Klopp

Liverpool have set their sights on Borussia Dortmund striker sensation Youssoufa Moukoko, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseyside giants are keeping close tabs on the Cameroon-born 17-year-old after being hugely impressed by the impact he has made for the German club.

Liverpool are among the elite clubs keen to lure Moukoko from the German club next year.

Premier League rivals, as well as Paris Saint-Germain Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, are also monitoring the young forward, who is regarded as one of the world’s elite young talents.

Jurgen Klopp is believed to have been blown away by the impact Moukoko has made at his former club Dortmund since breaking into the team a day after his 16th birthday.

He became the youngest player in Bundesliga history when he replaced Erling Haaland as a late substitute on 21 November, 2020.

Moukoko has continued to develop quickly and has already accumulated 52 appearances for Dortmund.

They have yielded eight goals and six assists, and he is already established as a key member of the team.

Moukoko has made 15 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring three goals – all in the Bundesliga – and supplying four assists.

He is used principally in the centre-forward position by Dortmund, who sold Erling Haaland to Man City during the summer.

Moukoko is rotated in the position with Anthony Modeste, the veteran French striker who is aged 34 and twice his age.
