Barcelona have put immense focus on the market recently, as they desperately look to sign a few more players before kickstarting their preparations for the season ahead.
However, the club are also keeping tabs on the current squad. As they look to change the dynamics of the team going into the new season, we might see new faces popping up in the near future.
One of them could be Lamine Yamal. The youngster exploded into prominence at the end of last season, when he notably became the youngest player to ever feature for Barcelona in professional football.
According to Albert Roge, Yamal could make another important step in his career tomorrow, when he turns 16. That means he will now be able to sign a professional contract at Barcelona and commit to his long-term future at Camp Nou.
Roge suggests Yamal could sign a three-year contract at Barça, with an option to extend it for two more years. The new professional deal could help Yamal earn prominence in the senior side for Barcelona next season and in the years to come.
With the Blaugrana desperately looking to offload the likes of Ferran Torres, this is an ideal time for Yamal to step up his game and prove himself at the top level. Given his performances at the youth level, the player certainly has the potential to do so.
Barcelona, for their part, will be banking on Yamal to realise his potential as they hope to see another La Masia product explode in professional football.
Yamal will become a part of the first-team setup under Xavi next season, but play for Barça Atletic when is not playing with the senior squad.
